4 Foods That Help Boost Your Immune System

2. Chicken Soup

It might sound crazy, but chicken soup will actually give your immune system something of a boost due to the fact that it contains cysteine, which is an amino acid that is released from the chicken when it is cooking. The cysteine stop infected white blood cells from moving around, concentrating illness in one place and making it easier for your immune system to fight off the effects of the illness. Add garlic to the soup to increase its immune boosting potency.

3. Tea

Look for green or black teas that contain L-theanine, which will increase the amount of interferon in your blood. This is helpful because interferon is used to help fight off disease and keep you from getting sick in the first place. It provides an additional line of defense for the immune system, which allows you give your body time to heal and strengthen.

4. Oranges

Finally, eating oranges can increase the amount of vitamin C that you are ingesting, which can help your immune system get stronger within a short period of time. Eating a few oranges a day or even vitamin C supplements can help get your vitamin C as high as it needs to be.
